Film. Music. Culture. Every week.
Curating content that is curious, innovative, purpose-driven, brilliant, edgy, citizen of the world, weird, magical, authentic and/or stylish.
Branded entertainment isn't a category anymore, it's just entertainment. That's the thesis of Fast Company's latest read on where studio-brand collaboration is headed: instead of buying a 30-second spot, brands are building out full content portfolios, treating partnerships like a studio-style slate rather than a single campaign. Sony's rollout for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the loudest proof point yet, setting an all-time record with $309 million in media value across 165 brand partners, from BMW to Little Caesars to Samsung.
But the bigger story is what's happening past the on-screen cameo. Brands aren't just buying their way into someone else's movie anymore, they're standing up their own shows, series, and content studios entirely. Product placement was brands asking to be let into the story. This is brands deciding to tell their own.
Disruptor Take
At Disruptor Creations, we built a full Brand Studio for exactly this reason. Most of the industry is still thinking in "placement" terms, a logo on a desk, a product in a scene. We treat sponsors as creative partners from page one, integrated into the story itself instead of bolted onto it after the fact. MicroAdventure is the sharpest version of that idea we've got: a format built from the ground up for brand integration, not retrofitted for it after the deal is signed. Our Brands & Destinations are part of the story as true Partners.

Can you name the film? Think you know who said the line?

📰 CJ ENM Sells K-Dramas to CME's Slovakia & Czech Channels
Korean studio CJ ENM has struck a distribution deal with TV Markíza (Slovakia) and TV Nova (Czech Republic), both owned by Central European Media Enterprises, bringing hits like Hotel Del Luna and Signal to two new territories. It's part of a broader push to expand K-content distribution across Central and Eastern Europe, a market that's been quietly hungry for it.

The Power of Speed
Wired's new cover profile digs into IShowSpeed, the 21-year-old streamer whose World Cup anthem got folded into FIFA's official tournament album after racking up 7 million YouTube views in under 24 hours. He's less an influencer than a one-man media network, and the piece makes the case that creators like him are becoming the model, not the exception.
Futures Raises $6M to Rewrite the Label Deal
Futures Music Group, the artist-forward label collective behind Phantogram, Mt. Joy and Cavetown, just closed a $6 million seed round to expand into catalog partnerships. Its whole pitch is flexible, transparent deal structures that prioritize artist ownership over the old lock-in model, exactly the kind of structural shift we're watching closely on the label side.
